In an earlier posting I wrote how fantastic Tenby International School Setia Eco Park’s library is. When I went there for a visit, I was positively surprised and really happy to see how big it was compared to my daughter’s old school and how well organised it was with plenty of space to move around, rows of shelves with new books, fiction, story and reference books. There were comfortable seatings available for the students to sit and read quietly and tables for studying. The library is divided into several sections, for the younger students and for the older students.
The library is managed by a full-time Librarian, who told me that not only does she manage the library and teaches the students how to use the library’s resources successfully, but she also teaches the students special skills such as how to do proper research, note taking techniques and much more. I am happy to have met the Librarian at Tenby International School, as I have faith in her abilities to teach my daughter the necessary skills required for her to do research and find the information she needs for her projects.
To empower students with this kind of knowledge is very important, as it will enable them to quickly find relevant and useful information and select the right information to be able to complete any task and solve any problem, they are required to do in future, both study and work wise.
